I. Construction & Design
For decades, Ludwig & Sons has relied on the wood-aluminium system, which ideally fuses the advantages of two material worlds. In this respect, the system is, in our opinion, superior to other constructions, which is why we have designed our entire planning, production, and installation processes around it. The interplay of modern CNC technology and classic craftsmanship results in impressive, one-of-a-kind pieces of the highest quality, which can be personalised entirely according to client wishes. From construction to design, there are hardly any limits for our clients in the realisation of their personal construction project.
Wood-Aluminium: The Superior System
In recent decades, Ludwig & Sons has deliberately specialised in the wood-aluminium system because, in our opinion, it is superior to other systems such as pure timber or aluminium constructions. The unique structure of the system combines the advantages of two material worlds: on the interior, the wood creates a homely atmosphere and naturally regulates the indoor climate through its hygroscopic properties. In addition, wood has excellent acoustic and thermal insulation values compared to other materials. On the exterior, aluminium offers excellent weather resistance, thereby guaranteeing a long service life. A homely atmosphere, outstanding performance values, and a long lifespan – no comparable system achieves such a high level in all these areas as the wood-aluminium system.

Every one of our projects is individually manufactured and can thus be personalised entirely according to the client’s wishes. This ranges from the fundamental construction, such as the floor plan, roof shape, or opening options, to design elements like ornamentation, lighting, or colours. Thanks to our special planning and production process, we can accommodate almost any client wish and also realise architecturally demanding projects. This way, every conservatory, orangery, and pool house from our manufactory workshops becomes a handcrafted, one-of-a-kind piece that is as individual as the client who commissioned it.

II. Traditional Family Business & Decades of Experience
In 1928, Ludwig Krenzer founded the company as a village joinery in his hometown. Since then, we have seen ourselves as a manufactory for bespoke glazing projects and have already successfully realised thousands of such construction projects. Over more than 95 years, this has created a unique body of know-how from which every one of our projects benefits. To this day, the company is managed by the Krenzer family, now in its fourth generation, who still know every ongoing project by name and, if necessary, take personal care of it.
Family Business in the Fourth Generation
Since the company’s founding in 1928 by Ludwig Krenzer, it has been managed by the Krenzer family. With a combination of time-honoured craftsmanship and a constantly renewed spirit of innovation, three generations of joinery master families successfully continued the company’s story – despite world wars, global economic crises, and pandemics – and turned the village joinery into a globally active craft enterprise. Now, with Sarah and Christian Krenzer, the great-grandchildren of the company founder are also active in the business, carrying on the company legacy together with a dedicated team of master craftsmen, technicians, and skilled workers.

Thanks to this unique know-how, we are able to manufacture even highly personalised special creations to a quality that is unparalleled worldwide.
III. Professional Project Execution
Our standard is to provide you, as an architect, with expert support from the initial consultation to the final installation. In Europe, we provide this service ourselves; in the USA, we work with certified partners for this purpose. In any case, you can rely on an expert initial consultation. Once your ideas and requirements have been discussed, a 3D visualisation of your project is created in the next step. As soon as you have given approval for production, your handcrafted, unique piece is manufactured in our own production facilities in Germany. Finally, the installation is carried out by our own installers or our certified local partner. This means you have a reliable partner at your side from the very beginning.
Planning Documents & On-Site Consultation
We would be happy to send you detailed information about our conservatories and orangeries. As an architect, you can receive additional technical planning documents, such as CAD drawings, in addition to our catalogue. Your personal architectural consultant is also available to present the wood-aluminium system to you via video call or with original samples on-site. As your dedicated contact person, they will be happy to answer your questions and visit you at your office or on the construction site to discuss the various construction possibilities together. Technical Support
In addition to comprehensive consultation from our architectural advisors and the provision of all relevant information, we also support you with technical planning. Our qualified technicians use the latest 3D laser technology for the site survey and subsequently assist you with the execution planning. They also create the necessary production and installation plans. In doing so, we place great value on a close collaboration with you as the architect, in order to optimally consider special technical requirements and individual client wishes.
Our Project Workflow
Bespoke Production
Every one of our projects is a handcrafted, one-of-a-kind piece, individually produced in our in-house facilities. We rely on a combination of craftsmanship and high-tech. While CNC technology ensures efficient and precise manufacturing of the various components, time-honoured craftsmanship and manual work also allow for very personal wishes to be accommodated. A large selection of colours is then available for the interior wood surfaces and the powder coating of the exterior aluminium cladding. Regular quality controls throughout all production processes guarantee a consistently high level of quality. Finally, our logistics department ensures that the goods reach the construction site protected and undamaged.
Our Manufacturing Process
Expert Installation
In Germany and other European countries, the installation of our conservatories and orangeries is carried out by our own trained installation teams. We use our modern, in-house vehicle fleet, which includes an innovative high-tech crane. With this special crane, which has a very long reach, we are optimally equipped for the installation of large-scale glass facades. In addition, special tools such as glass lifters facilitate the handling of elements on the ground. This allows even particularly heavy steel elements to be installed smoothly and time-efficiently. In the USA, the installation is carried out by our certified local partners.
Everything from a Single Source
Overall, we support you as an architect from planning to installation and guide you along the entire path. We do not just supply individual window/door elements or glass roof structures; we manage the entire new build or extension structurally from a single source. This means everything is planned, manufactured, and installed in perfect coordination, without the need to commission other companies for the structure. This enormously simplifies the entire planning and coordination of such a construction project, while with us as a competent partner, you have one point of contact for the entire structure.
